Our Krill oil is harvested in the Antarctic with ethical practices that allow it to be certified by the Friend of the Sea organization. Harvesting krill is extremely sustainable because krill make up the largest organismal biomass on the planet and we (humans) are only harvesting 1% annually. Harvesting krill provides great economic benefits and jobs while the krill oil acquired has considerable and well-studied dietary benefits.
Ingredients
Krill Oil
Salmon Oil
Wild Alaskan salmon oil is rich in EPA and DHA omega fatty acids. Our wild Alaskan salmon oil is made in the USA in a GMP certified facility. This ingredient has well studied health benefits as a result of the presence of fatty acids not synthesized by our companion animals. The consumption of this oil can result in healthy cognitive development, healthy coat, healthy visual development, and improved overall heart health.
Borage Oil
Borage oil is an extract made from the seeds of the Borago officinalis plant.
Borage oil is prized for its high gamma linoleic acid (GLA) content. It’s thought that this fatty acid can help reduce inflammation tied to many diseases. It is rare to find studies directed specifically towards dogs, but in a study produced with 60 dogs suffering from atopic dermatitis borage supplementation with GLA resulted in decreased dandruff and inflammatory markers. After the treatment the dogs had visually noticeable improvements in skin condition. Black currant and evening primrose oil also contain GLA; however, borage oil has nearly double the amount.
Full-spectrum hemp extract
Our hemp is grown locally along the Uncompahgre River Valley by local farmers. Rather than grow our own hemp, we prefer to contribute to the success of smaller farms by testing the potency of their hemp throughout the growing process to ensure its compliance. All hemp used in our products has been tested at our in-house testing facility and verified by a third-party state certified lab to ensure compliance. The hemp extracts we use are full spectrum; meaning that they contain other beneficial terpenes and cannabinoids such as CBC and CBG. The combination of these polyphenols contributes to the well-studied entourage effect.
